Are transactions anonymous?
No, transactions are not anonymous. Our customers must provide a valid US Government-issued ID. We are a registered Money Services Business, and we adhere to all federal banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Know Your Customer procedures. As required by the Office of Foreign Asset Control, make sure all transactions are verified with personally identifiable information, to prevent fraud and prohibited activity.
Do you exchange currency here?
Sorry, but we wouldn't be able to assist with currency exchange. We only convert cash to Bitcoin for customers at our BTM and live teller locations.
Can I sell my Bitcoin for cash here?
DigitalMint Bitcoin ATMs and Teller Windows currently do not allow customers to sell Bitcoin in exchange for cash. Visit Coin ATM Radar to find a BTM or Teller Window near you that will allow you to sell Bitcoin. Visit Gemini or Coinbase if you need to sell Bitcoin online.
What do I need to purchase Bitcoin here?
To purchase Bitcoin at a DigitalMint ATM or Teller Window location, you'll need: 1) Your personal Bitcoin Wallet. 2) Valid US government-issued photo ID. We also accept US Passports with additional verification. Please contact our customer support team to learn more about the passport verification process. 3) Cell phone with text message capabilities.
How do I register an account with DigitalMint?
A new DigitalMint BTM customer must 1) Register an account at the kiosk by entering your number 2) Confirm your number through the text code. 3) Hold your photo ID up to the ATM camera to verify your identity. 4) Create a PIN using the on-screen keyboard. 5) Scan your BTC wallet address using the QR scanner or enter the wallet address. 6) Insert your cash into the bill acceptor. 7) See text receipt after the transaction is complete!
Which Bitcoin wallet do I need?
There is a wide variety of Bitcoin wallet options to choose from that meet different requirements like security, convenience, and accessibility. DigitalMint customers typically use Blockchain, BRD, Green Address, and Jaxx wallets to store their cryptocurrency. However, it is your responsibility to conduct your own due diligence regarding digital currency wallet options.
How long does it take for my purchased Bitcoin to show up in my wallet after a transaction?
For new customers, Bitcoin ATM transactions can take up to 5 minutes. For returning customers, ATM and Teller Window transactions can take less than 1 minute. Once your transaction is complete, your Bitcoin will arrive in your wallet within 15 minutes of your purchase.
What are the fees/charges for each cash-to-Bitcoin transaction?
We apply a 12% markup rate for all Bitcoin ATM and Teller Window transactions at the time of the customer's purchase. Our markup rate is in line with rates across the Bitcoin ATM industry and is based on the Bitcoin Average Index. How do I send Bitcoin to another person or wallet?
Once your transaction at the DigitalMint Bitcoin ATM or teller is complete, your bitcoin will be sent to your personal BTC wallet. Once you receive your bitcoin, you may send it to another person. When you want to send Bitcoin, tap the “send” button in your Bitcoin wallet application. Most wallets will prompt you to copy/paste the text of the receiver’s address or allow you to scan the QR code from the screen on the receiver’s wallet.
Do you accept credit or debit cards?
Credit and debit cards are accepted at select DigitalMint locations. Use our Bitcoin ATM map on our website to find specific locations that accept credit and debit.
Do I need to buy a whole Bitcoin?
No, you can buy any fraction of a bitcoin you want. A bitcoin is divisible to the 8th decimal point, so a customer can purchase very small fractions of bitcoin, as low as $1 at any DigitalMint Bitcoin ATM or Teller Window.
What is the daily and monthly limit for purchasing Bitcoin?
You can buy daily up to $5,000 of Bitcoin with US Government-issued ID (Tier 1) and up to $20,000 with extra verification (Tier 2). Our Tier 1 monthly limit is $20,000 of Bitcoin and our Tier 2 monthly limit is $40,000. When you hit your daily or monthly limit, the DigitalMint kiosk will display a “Daily limit hit” message on the screen, or if you’re transacting at a teller, the store employee will notify you.
How do I buy Bitcoin online?
You can buy Bitcoin online using the DigitalMint Exchange, our OTC crypto trading platform. Customers can buy and sell large volumes of Bitcoin and altcoins using online bank wire with over $1,000,000+ transaction limits. Just register your account, enter and verify your bank wire information, and place an order! Online orders require a $5,000 transaction minimum.
