***IF I COULD LEAVE A ZERO STAR REVIEW I WOULD.*** The AFTER pictures I listed still had dirt spots that could easily come off.

Recently I saw a post on a local site saying that Steve’s Carpet Cleaning Service was struggling and they needed help to stay afloat.
Steve has a facebook page in which he quotes religious quotes many times a day so I wanted to help. That was my mistake.

***I’LL LET THE FACTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES*** :
-I asked what it would cost to clean a 9’x12’ area rug and was messaged by James Maldonado, “For your area rug cleaning service, the price would be $110. We will do steam cleaning + deep cleaning + remove all the stains and all the spots. 50 to 70 minutes it will take.”
-I then asked to add a second rug, this one would be 8’x10’ and he stated it would be $220 for both.
(He never asked the condition they were in and what kind they were and now I know that’s a red flag.)

-Although they said they would come on the scheduled day between 10am-12pm, they then changed the time to 8:30a.m. and the morning of Steve (the owner) arrived at 7:53a.m. It was not the time we agreed, and being that early without asking was an inconvenience.

-My Ring Camera captured him on the phone telling someone before he first rang the door bell at 7:53a.m. that he would be at that other location by 9a.m. (I did not know this until afterwards.)

-My Ring Camera also captured that at 8:02a.m. Steve brought in the vacuum and by 8:19a.m. he was done and took the vacuum back to his truck. That means he only cleaned BOTH large area rugs in a total of 17 minutes for both. That’s about 8 minutes each rug.

Since he got there earlier than stated, the first few minutes he was there I was in my room getting my daughter up for the morning. I planned for us to be in the kitchen next to where he was working, but he was done so fast that I didn’t get a chance.

-After he took his vacuum to his truck, he came back in and told me he was done, and I replied that was fast! I stayed silent, as I didn’t know what else to say, and he said, “They look brighter.” I assumed that since he is the professional, I would see what he saw once they dried. They were wet so I couldn’t tell at the time, so I paid him. And because I believe in always tipping, I gave him $30 over the price. He then emphasized his request for me to be sure and leave him a 5-star review.
I left a positive review at the time because I trusted what he said and I was in a hurry that day so that I wouldn’t forget. Yet I deleted it shortly after they dried as they were the same and after learning all that I’ve stated.

*Later that day James messaged and asked how the service was. I told him that now that they had dried, they looked the exact same and still had all the dirt spots on them. I used a brush and easily took one off - they were not even stains. They never replied.

*The next day I reached out again and asked that someone contact me and James messaged me and said, “I will.” But he never did. I also sent pictures to show the carpets and the dirt spots and regular use marks that were still all visibly there. I still haven’t hear back.

* I paid $300 ($220 for two rugs, $50 for the carpet protectant and $30 for the tip) and did not receive the work they quoted, and I have it in writing. It was after they dried and they looked exactly the same that I went back to look on my Ring Camera which shows video and audio proof of all the above. I did not pay $300 for Steve to come and work for only 17 minutes on two large rugs, leave the carpets the same and then ignore my requests. That’s not reflective of quality service and caring about your customers and the work you do.

*I have noticed in his reviews that Steve gets upset when someone complains about his service, but the Ring videos do not lie. Also, the most common thing I see is that he is so nice, and I said the same thing. Being nice does not give someone the free pass to fail to do the service they guaranteed, and it is also not a Shield.
*I will be looking further into this issue until it’s resolved.
